Mottled and Demonic!
Mottled!
What I applied in this attempt was lessons I've learned aligning left and right side stencils, this was composed of 4 different stencils on each side blended to look like one piece.
Another lesson learned from this one; I should have maintained a sharp edge with the black mottling, but I allowed it to bleed into the neighbouring stencil space on the forehead, which still looks good, but probably better sharper.
Final lesson, under-painting a coat of white is great for bringing out of the colour vibrancy, but when laying stencils over the top, some had a tendency to get stuck and peel a bit of the make-up off. Another problem to solve for the near future.

Next up was Fire/Lava with a touch of demonic. More colour experimentation here. Perhaps adapt this for a larger scale demon in future.
She had some cogs at the jaw base and down her neck (not shown properly here) for a mechanical touch. Wish I had got a shot of her with her eyes closed, because the zig-zag continued across it. :)
Lessons applied with this attempt; Very fine gentle spraying with the red, built up with layers, resulted in a fantastic look around the eyes, then followed with mottling of different colours on extreme ends of the face for contrasting.
Lessons learned; Black is an overpowering colour! The bar on the mouth should probably have been a gradient line, rather than a solid block. Ah well!

Live out-door airbrushing!
My friends asked me to come along to their fire spinning course in LA, and maybe do some airbrushing on them to make them awesome for their first time lighting up. The guys at FireGroove were kind enough to let me do so, so I spent the night decortaing people, and was pretty much non-stop. Here's a selection of some of my favourites from the night.
Under-painted layer of white to bring out the red "Flame" bars, along with some over-painted white decoration to give the lines some definition.
Abstract wings, multi-layer stencil
work. Perhaps a tad 'busy' (oh god, I'm such a perfectionist, help!) in
the end, but it turned out really well considering the light levels I
was dealing with. :D

More multi-layer stenciling, with deep coverage
around the eyes to add dramatically to her overall look. Not too sure
about my mechanical strawberry there, put that one on the back-burner I
think! :p

Time to get creepy!
Ok, so I've been practicing with the Airbrush, but my goal is ultimately to use it for SFX and horror make-up, so I decided to try a little collab between the styles on my sister! Went for somewhere between Black Swan, Day of the Dead, and Tim Burton!

The final product, with what we had, we swung for Tim Burton and knocked it out of the park! :D

The power of symmetry...
Getting the hang of what works and what doesn't
work, pretty good attempt, with a touch of an alignment failure on the
cheek sections, gonna have to figure out a better way to ensure
even-ness.

Also, I performed my first (free) commission! Try the Tat before you actually tatoo it permanently on your body!

Airbrush - Less is more!
Model: M. Bunel
I also tried my hand at making stencils from scratch and trying them out, pretty much randomly, and trying to cover larger areas and follow the contours of the body. Theme, Rock n' Roll, baby!
